Skylights near the coast pick up a film that inland ones do not: salt off the water combined with the fine sand that blows in on a southerly. It dries as a haze that ordinary rain does not clear, and on the flat and low-pitch roofs common on terraces and semis around here there is nothing to help it run off. Add a renovated terrace where the skylight is the main light source for the middle of the house and a dull unit gets noticed quickly. In almost every case the glazing is the problem, not the unit.
Domes, fixed panels and openable units are all common here and none of them are cleaned the same way. We check before touching anything.

SafeWork NSW reports that most serious and fatal falls happen from roofs, ladders and building edges at four metres or under, and a fall from two metres can kill. A single-storey Sydney house is squarely inside that range.

Quoting skylight cleaning in the Eastern Suburbs is not the same job as quoting it elsewhere in Sydney. Concrete tiles are banned in Paddington: Woollahra DCP lists concrete roof tiles as intrusive and not permitted in the Paddington conservation area.
