Blocks here are small and the trees are often bigger than the space they sit in, so branches end up directly over a roof or resting against a gutter. On terraces and semis the gutters are narrow and the roofs are shared, which means litter off one property regularly ends up in the neighbour’s gutter. Branches touching a roof also work tiles loose in a southerly and give possums a way in. We trim what is over and against the roofline and take the cuttings away with us.
Our tree trimming service is limited to manageable branches affecting roofs and gutters. Larger trees, protected trees or work needing a specialist assessment may need to be referred to a qualified arborist.

There are limits on what can be cut where a branch overhangs your property, and it is worth speaking to the neighbour first. We are happy to look and tell you what is sitting over your roof, but the arrangement between neighbours is not something we can settle for you.
Yes. Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick each have their own controls on pruning and protected trees, and conservation areas add another layer. If you are unsure about a particular tree, check with your council before the work is booked.

SafeWork NSW reports that most serious and fatal falls happen from roofs, ladders and building edges at four metres or under, and a fall from two metres can kill. A single-storey Sydney house is squarely inside that range.
